Six Sigma can do a lot for your business. It improves effectiveness and efficiency of your business.
A business organization has lots of processes. Once the management decides to implement Six Sigma, they will be doing several jobs which includes identifying and improving upon several processes in the business.
What is a process and its role in Six Sigma
According to George Eckes, The author of “Six Sigma For Everyoneâ€, from business perspective a process1 is a series of 20-30 most important steps in a business.
Management identifies the processes in business and the average sigma level of the processes. Some of the low sigma level processes have direct impact upon company’s business objectives. Management’s objectives are to identify such low performing processes.
Then teams work on these processes with some specialized tools and concepts to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of those processes. Work is done on these processes until the a pre-decided level of effectiveness is achieved.
